Grocery Hero - Your grocery shopping friend
Grocery Hero is a responsive website that was the second project assigned in the Google UX Design Certificate. This website would allow users to locate specific items in the store, create shopping lists, and access coupons. The focus was on making grocery shopping easier for families and college students who are busy throughout the week.

Challenge
Users were struggling to keep track of their shopping lists and wanted a feature that would allow them to login and access them from the grocery store they typically go to. New visitors were finding it difficult to locate products and asking an employee for help while the store was busy was frustrating.
Results
The website includes all items sold at the store and their location in the store. They can add items to their shopping list and edit them throughout the week. Users can also access coupons and view weekly sales posted by the grocery store.
Process
Brainstorming: I created a sitemap in order to create the general layout and to think of features to add. The UI of Grocery Hero was also beginning to form in this stage.
Competitive Analysis: I did a competitive analysis and found that neither direct or indirect competitors had an item locator. A few were also not inclusive with dietary needs, so I made sure to include that category in my website.
Wireframing: While creating wireframes, new ideas were starting to form and I was able to incorporate them simultaneously. I created paper wireframes first and then moved on to digital.
Usability Testing: I conducted a usability test and users were also asked for their preference between two different mockups. Users were given the task of finding the location of broccoli and had no difficulty in the user flow or with accessibility.
Visual Design & Prototyping: The logo was created using Canva and the stock images were edited in order to create a png effect. The choice behind the color palette was for it to give off a "homey" feel. The prototyping includes a no motion design in order to create a clean flow.
I created 5 different layouts of the homepage. This was the one I chose as I felt it was not too distracting from its purpose.
Conclusion
I feel like this website would be useful for a lot of consumers and there should be more item locators in store websites. I learned the importance of creating features to help users and overall benefit everyone including employees or companies. The idea of AI being used to create a map that tells the user the order which they should look for their items to save them time would be really helpful.
